Where they work

What hook bins are used for

Hook lift bins are built for jobs where a skip fills faster than you can get it swapped.

Demolition and strip-outs

Demolition generates volume quickly. A 16 cubic metre hook bin holds close to double a 9 cubic metre skip, which means fewer swaps and less downtime waiting on a truck.

Bulk construction waste

Suited to larger construction sites producing mixed construction and demolition waste continuously rather than in a single clean-up.

Heavy material

The 12 and 16 cubic metre bins carry up to 4 and 5 tonnes respectively. Talk to us before loading concrete, brick or soil so the right bin goes out.

Longer running projects

Standard hire is 14 days. If your build needs a bin on site for longer, arrange it with us before delivery rather than after.

Not sure which

Hook bin or skip bin?

Hook bins start at 12 cubic metres, roughly where skip bins stop. If a 9 cubic metre skip will not keep up with the job, or you are paying for repeat swaps, a hook bin moves the same waste for less.

Access and delivery

Getting a hook bin on site

Hook bins are larger than skips and need more room to place and collect. Check the space before you book.

01 · Check the space

Both hook bins are 5.0 metres long, and the truck needs clear room beyond that to set the bin down and pick it up again. Firm, level ground with no overhead obstructions. If you are unsure, tell us about the site and we will advise.

02 · Send a request

Use the request form with your site address, the bin size and your preferred dates. If you are not certain on size, say so and we will recommend one.

03 · We confirm with you

APEX comes back to confirm availability, access, price and timing. Nothing is booked until we confirm it.

04 · Delivery and collection

The bin is delivered to your site for the standard 14 day hire. Let us know when it is ready and we collect. Keep the load level with the top of the bin so it can be transported safely.

What is the difference between a skip bin and a hook bin?

Skip bins run from 3.0 to 9.0 cubic metres and suit renovations, clean-ups and smaller sites. Hook bins start at 12 cubic metres and suit demolition, bulk construction waste and heavy material. A 16 cubic metre hook bin holds close to double a 9 cubic metre skip.

How much room do I need for a hook bin?

Both hook bins are 5.0 metres long, and the truck needs clear room beyond that to set the bin down and collect it. Firm, level ground with no overhead obstructions. If you are unsure, tell us about the site and we will advise.

What is included in the bin price?

All bin prices exclude GST and include delivery, 14 days hire, collection and tipping fees.

Can I put concrete or soil in a bin?

Talk to us before you load heavy material so the right bin goes out. Each bin has a maximum load, and overweight loads may attract additional charges.
